Calligraphy, the art of writing, is the most admired form of art in the Muslim world. A skilled calligrapher is able to manipulate the Arabic script into an astonishing form of art that can be seen adorning walls, furniture, ceramics, textiles, and glass.
You don't have to be a skilled calligrapher (or even artistic) to enjoy this form of art because our Arabic calligraphy stencils will allow you to replicate it onto any surface.
Let your creativity shine!
Stencils allow you to use any color you want so the calligraphy you create will be your own unique masterpiece.
How to use our stencils
Spray a light layer of stencil adhesive (follow direction on back of bottle) to the back of the stencil. Let dry.
Place the stencil on the surface; then secure in place with painters tape.
Load a good quality stencil brush or sponge with paint. Dab off the excess paint onto a paper towel so that the brush looks semi dry (Very important).
Hold your brush at a 90-degree angle with the surface, and then color in the calligraphy stencil in jabbing motion. You may need to hold down some sections of the stencil while stenciling to prevent paint bleed
If you need to darken the color, repeat the steps above.
While it takes more time to do, working in layers is best because it minimizes paint bleed and results in crisp lines.

With a photo-rich teaching method that's welcoming to everyone, this introduction helps you use ink and a qalama traditional reed pento create flowing, timelessly decorative lines of Arabic script. The book begins with the history behind this art that decorates writings and architecture worldwide. Master calligrapher Alani next shows you how to choose the materials and prepare your tools. After a quick introduction to how the Arabic language works, he guides you through exercises to help you successfully write the 28 Arabic letters, join them together, and finally assemble them into phrases. Once you have mastered the basics, explore creating graphic compositions in each of seven major styles (Kufic, Thuluth, Naskh, Persian, Turkish, Riqa, and Maghrebi). Sometimes it takes years to be able to decipher a composition, but meanwhile, you can enjoy its aesthetic beauty. This guide helps beginners, like centuries of people before them, create graceful, meaningful art from words.

The Arabic calligraphy on the left hand painting reads " ALLAHU AKBAR" on the middle painting it reads "LA ILAHA ILLA ALLAH" and on the right hand painting it reads "BISMILLAH IR-RAHMAN IR-RAHIM". The calligraphy is gold on cream backgrounds. I have painted on four layers of gold paint to ensure a radiant and lustrous finish. There are three separate canvases, each one measures 40cm (16 inches) high x 30cm (12 inches) wide x 1.7cm (0.6 inches) deep. There are no staples or tacks on the sides of the frame, and the paint goes right down the edges so the canvas is ready to hang as it is. Although you can add a frame if you so wish. Your paintings will be carefully packaged in bubble wrap and cardboard to ensure they reach you in perfect condition.
