In this episode, Anthony tells his incredible story of how he converted/reverted to Islam.

  • Anthony is 21 years old and lives in Arizona.
  • He recently converted 1-2 weeks before this interview.

Due to medical conditions, and the need for 24/7 care, he struggled with converting.

He desired strongly to convert but was afraid that his family would disown him and leave him without care.

With the help of a Muslim woman, Lina, he was finally able to take his shahada.

He said:

"She told me that if my family is that intolerant and if I would like, I could come live with her and her husband and she would be my 24/7 nurse."

"I was shocked when she offered this and she helped me take shahada as my family was walking in, to see if I needed help with anything, but right after I took shahada I could see the disappointed look on my family's faces and they just walked out."

In this episode he talks about:

  • How his family is very intolerant of Islam and Muslims.
  • How he wanted to take the Shahadah but was worried about the reaction of his family.
  • His friends in the Lebanese community and how he learned Arabic form them.
  • His conversion to the Maronite Catholic Church.
  • How he moved to Assisted Living to help him deal with his medical conditions.

Further, we reviewed how he met the Pope, after traveling to Italy.

He discussed how he met Lina and how she was able to give him more information on Islam.

He recounted the story of taking his shahada.

We discussed the kindness and generosity of Lina and her family, as they provided him a home and 24/7 care after his family cut contact with him.

We further explored how he learned more about the oneness of Allah and compared that to what he had learned as a Christian.

He mentioned how the recitation of the Quran soothes and comforts him during some of his more difficult and painful procedures.

He also reveals how the five daily prayers have not only increased his spiritual strength, but also his physical strength.

He also gives his advice to those considering Islam.
